Safety rules in kids’ play centers: a guide for parents

Safe play is a shared responsibility between the center and parents. Learn the key safety rules before and during your visit.
Kids’ play centers are designed for safe play: padded surfaces, protective nets and games suited to each age. But safety is a shared responsibility between the center and parents. Here are the main general rules:
Before the visit:
- Dress your child in comfortable clothes that allow movement, and avoid belts, necklaces, long scarves and accessories that could catch.
- Ask the center about entry rules, such as special play socks or the number of children allowed in each zone.
- Make sure your child has had a light snack, and do not bring them when tired or unwell.
During play:
- Watch your child at all times and never leave young ones unsupervised.
- Explain the “one at a time” rule and not pushing or running near slides.
- Follow the age and height signs and the staff’s instructions.
- Teach them not to go down a slide face first and not to climb the wrong way.
- Take regular breaks and drink water.
In case of a minor injury, or if your child feels tired or scared: tell a staff member right away. In serious cases, seek medical help from the emergency services in your area without delay.
With awareness and supervision the visit is fun and safe for everyone.
This is general guidance. It does not replace the center's own rules, safety signs and the staff's instructions.
